Eastlake fields a women’s team in the Lynne O’Meara Shield (40 over) and Glenda Hall Cup (Twenty20) outdoor competitions.
Eastlake has had a women's team in the senior women's competition since 2003, and is one of the most successful ACT Women's Cricket Clubs. The team won both the one-day and T20 competitions in 2013/14 and 2014/15.
Hit by injuries and retirements in 2015/16, the team had to rebuild and recruited some of the ACT's top junior talent.
This season (2016/17) will see some changes to the women's competition which will mean we play mostly Twenty20 matches, from October to March, and just three 40-over matches, played in January, plus the final.
We have also welcomed back SJ Moore as our coach, namesake of the SJ Moore Medal for Best Player in the ACT Women's competition.
The Eastlake Women play on Sundays, with most home matches at Forestry Oval, Yarralumla.
The team trains from 5.30pm on Wednesdays (nets) and Thursdays (fielding) at Kingston Oval.
We are always on the lookout for new players, and all levels of experience are welcome. There is some equipment available to borrow too. If you want to play for the women or find out more information, contact our captain for details:
