Games were abandoned on 11 February (too hot!), 18 February (rain after 9 overs), and 4 March (rain), but 5th grade got on on 25 February against Tuggeranong.
Ian Chattin was skipper again and called incorrectly but not to worry, we were asked to bat on a wicket which looked pretty good.
After the loss of an early wicket to a run-out, Chatty and Rob Nichol proceeded to put on 146 for the second wicket and both were especially severe on anything short.
Rob hit 6 fours and a six in compiling 56 and Ian was superb, again, hitting eight fours and four sixes in making 86. There were some useful contributions down the order from Angus Kent (23*) and Andrew Harvey (22*).
Harvs hit the last ball of the innings for six to help us to a total of 6/233. The guys were pretty confident knowing they were defending their highest total of the season. All of the young guys bowled well and most managed to take a wicket with the pick being Nick Pinkas (1/11 off 6).
Of the more experienced bowlers (notice I'm not using the word old!), Andrew Harvey (2/31 from 9 overs) again bowled a good tight spell of off-spin. The guys moved well in the field and the result was never really in doubt as Tuggs were bowled out for 207.
